Fernie is a small mountain town in the East Kootenays that punches well above its weight. A great community and cool mountain culture with backyard access to snowsports, mountain biking, and hiking, not to mention the many lakes and rivers to fish, float, and paddle in – Fernie has got it all. Whether you’ve come for a season, or are looking to put down roots of your own, Fernie has cast its spell on many and we expect it will get to you too!

Most of our team at LWE originally came to Fernie for the mountain lifestyle, but they’ve stayed, honed their skills and made a life of their own here because of the community and culture.

Our trails are well-maintained by the City and local volunteers, and our local organizations host a myriad of family-friendly events throughout the entire year: the Wapiti Music Festival, Wednesday Summer Socials, the Sunday Farmer’s Market, and Griz Days, just to mention a few.

As a company, we strive to contribute to the community. We’re grateful to live here, work here and be a part of Fernie, so we are a proud supporter of a number of initiatives in Fernie, the Elk Valley, and the further afield. Our support ranges from fundraising and event sponsorship, to providing our services and time to assist these organizations in continuing their invaluable work and operations.

We strive to give back whenever we can .
